Every year, on December 05, the DRC celebrates National Tree Day, a special occasion marked by activities around the theme: A tree planted today, a greener tomorrow!
This reflects FINCA DRC’s strong commitment to supporting ANIMF in its mission of sustainability and ensuring that essential resources are preserved for future generations.
To celebrate this day, the National Association of Microfinance Institutions (ANIMF), under the chairmanship of Ms. Mirela PEKMEZI, CEO of FINCA DRC, led a tree-planting initiative in Kinshasa’s botanical garden, an emblematic place that is home to a large proportion of the city’s trees and symbolizes the biodiversity heritage of the city of Kinshasa.
The initiative is part of a wider effort to encourage institutions, communities and individuals to integrate environmentally friendly practices into their daily lives.
During the media interview, ANIMF recalled the many benefits of trees: purifying the air, regulating the climate, preventing soil erosion and providing essential habitats for numerous species.
By planting these trees, FINCA RDC, together with ANIMF, is reaffirming its commitment to actively contribute to a sustainable future for the DRC, and to leave a legacy for future generations.
