Closing Ceremony of the Financial Inclusion Project with the Canadian Government and FINCA Canada
FINCA has successfully concluded its financial inclusion project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) supported by the Canadian government and FINCA Canada. Through the Government of Canada’s Financial Assistance Program (GAC). This support helped FINCA strengthen its position as a market leader in microfinance in the DRC.
This project aimed to promote financial inclusion in rural areas and among women, establish a banking agents’ network, introduce digital products, offer a women dedicated credit product, and provide financial education for all.
The development of digital products has significantly improved the efficiency and speed of financial transactions while providing customers with a more pleasant and convenient experience. The specialized credit product for women has addressed the specific needs of female entrepreneurs who often face challenges in accessing the necessary funding for starting or expanding their businesses. Lastly, the financial education program has enhanced the understanding of basic financial concepts and promoted responsible financial management.
These figures demonstrate the significant impact of the project in empowering individuals and communities through improved access to financial services and knowledge.
The partnership between FINCA, the Canadian government, and FINCA Canada has played a vital role in advancing financial inclusion and creating opportunities for economic growth in the DRC. The successful outcomes of this project pave the way for continued efforts in promoting inclusive finance and empowering individuals to build a brighter future.
