Around the world, especially in the DRC, many young people complete secondary school without learning how to manage money, save safely, or make informed financial decisions. Yet this knowledge can change a lifetime, especially for young women who are more impacted by poverty.

It is in this spirit that FINCA DRC visited Boyokani High School (an all‑girls’ school), where more than 250 students from the final two levels of secondary school gathered for a financial education session.

The training was led by Mrs. Elise KABEYA Training coordinator, a long advocate for financial education, who shared with the students the essential basics to better understand money management and prepare for their future, and pave way for their dreams and aspirations.

At her side, Mrs. Bibiche MPIA , Branch Manager, shared her testimony and advice on leadership, inspiring the students to believe in their abilities and aim higher.

The session did not stop at financial education, A team of experts from our Digital Department also introduced the students to essential digital financial skills, tools increasingly necessary for wealth management. In the words of Nehemie NKIASSI , who has conducted many university and high school awareness sessions on this subject, “Digital financial tools”.

At FINCA DRC we believe that empowering young girls with financial and digital skills is not only a social commitment, but also an investment in the future economic stability of households, communities and businesses across the DRC.

Very quickly, the meeting turned into an interactive moment: the students asked questions, shared their ambitions and discovered that money management is a skill that can be learned today to build better tomorrow.

At FINCA DRC, we are convinced that training young people in financial and digital literacy means preparing the entrepreneurs, innovators, leaders and responsible citizens that will shape the future of DRC.
